This is the first of the Knowledge Worth Sharing webinar series. Dr. Grace Terrell, an experienced senior-level physician executive, will lead a discussion regarding the unique opportunities and challenges for women physician leaders. She will discuss the importance of understanding the language of leadership and outline a vision for the future in which female physicians can excel in leadership roles. The webinar is free to members.
Michael S. Kobernick, MD, MS
If you missed Dr. Kobernick’s discussion January 26, click here for the digital recording.
Medical leaders’ focus on economics, liability, specialization, procedures and testing has led to an uncoordinated, disorganized system of care for patients. Patients are often shuttled between medical offices, emergency departments and hospitals with little communication between the settings and to the patient. So, how can you improve patients’ experiences and outcomes while realizing cost savings for your health care system? It’s simply answering this question: What is best for the patient?
Dr. Michael Kobernick, an experienced physician leader from St. John Providence Health System, provides guidance on how he has created more effective systems of care by putting patients first. Hear how specially designed and tested protocols have resulted in coordinated communication between health care providers and facilities, shorter hospital stays, improved assessments and after care, as well as reduction in readmissions—all of which translate into reduced costs.
