2009 Compensation Survey
Outlook is Bright for Physician Executive Leadership Compensation
Physician executive median compensation marks a two-year increase of 11.6
percent, rising to $288,000 according to the 2009 Physician Executive
Compensation Survey published by Cejka Search and the American College
of Physician Executives (ACPE). This is a significant increase from
the 2007 survey where the two-year rate of increase was reported as
7.5 percent.

Overall physician executive compensation increased 7.5 percent to $258,000 from $240,000 between 2005 and 2007.
Physician executive compensation has grown 36.6 percent overall since the first survey was published in 1997.

specialty groups earn the highest pay. Physician executives with advanced
degrees appear to earn more, as well.
