About ACPE

ACPE is the nation's largest health care organization for physician executives — doctors who hold leadership and management positions — who want to boost their leadership skills while adding weight to their CVs. Since its founding in 1975, the primary focus of the College is to provide superior leadership and management skills to physicians and encouraging them to assume more active roles in the leadership and management of their organizations. It has grown exponentially in that time, from 64 members to more than 10,000.

Members

ACPE members include chief executive officers, chief medical officers, vice presidents of medical affairs, medical directors and other physicians, and hail from 46 different countries, including India, Peru, Mexico, Thailand, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. ACPE faculty has conducted on-location classes in countries around the world. The College plans to continue to spread its influence globally and is currently pursuing several international initiatives.

ACPE offers personalized support to all of its members, foreign and domestic, including CME courses, an advanced degree program, career counseling and more. ACPE is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and is represented in the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates as the specialty society of medical administration.

What we believe ACPE believes physicians are uniquely positioned to improve health care. To this end, we strive to help physicians by providing the tools necessary to become world-class medical executives. We empower physician executives to take leadership roles within their organizations, and give them the confidence and training to create and manage safe, high-quality health care products and services. We understand that health care is complex and rapidly-changing and we vigilantly monitor the industry’s evolution. We believe that collaboration, innovation and dedication are the keys to preparing physician executives for the challenges they will face throughout their careers.

We foster an atmosphere that values curiosity, optimism and diversity. Finally, we work hard to promote a collegial atmosphere by encouraging networking and mentoring opportunities.
