Sue A. Cejka

Sue Cejka, Managing Partner, Grant Cooper & Associates, has been actively engaged in health care executive search for more than 25 years. During this time she has conducted assignments for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Areas of concentration include hospitals, integrated delivery systems, large group practices, managed care organizations, insurance companies, and academic medical centers.

Ms. Cejka is the founder of St. Louis-based Cejka & Company, a health care consulting and search firm. Founded in 1981 as a one-woman operation, the firm grew to a professional staff of more than 100, conducting over 600 assignments each year for clients throughout the country. Ranked as the 11th largest executive search firm in the country, the firm was acquired by Cross Country Staffing in 1998.

Ms. Cejka has recently reunited with her former founding partners and acquired controlling interest in Grant Cooper & Associates. Prior to joining Grant Cooper, Sue was Senior Client Partner with Korn/Ferry. 

She is a member of the Editorial Board of Physician Executive Journal (PEJ), serves as an advisor to The Advisory Board Company/The Governance Committee on a number of their studies, and is a faculty member for the American College of Physician Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. In addition, Ms. Cejka is a past recipient of the Ernst & Young/Merrill Lynch/INC Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Sue spent her early career as a C.P.A.

Ms. Cejka is a graduate of the University of Missouri and sits on the boards of Mary Institute/Country Day School, The Forsyth School, and the University of Missouri School of Business.
