The Master of Medical Management at Tulane
Building on the strengths of medical education and clinical practice, the MMM curriculum at Tulane is designed to develop current and aspiring physician executives to assume leadership roles in the delivery of health services that improve the health status of individuals and populations. To date, 250 physicians have completed their MMM degrees at Tulane.

Specialized Skills for Physician Executives
Curriculum in the Master of Medical Management program at Tulane includes a basic body of knowledge, understanding, skills, and values relevant to management. It stresses the special competencies required of physician executives, focusing on these broad themes:
Developing Executive Leadership
Emphasis is on interpersonal and communication skills, human resource management, positioning organizations within their business environments, and developing distinctive competency and sustainable competitive advantage.
Creating Fiscally Healthy Organizations The role of economics, accounting, and finance in successful management in a competitive marketplace is thoroughly explored and taught.
Advancing Clinical Excellence to Improve Population Health
Explores the epidemiological and quantitative methods for assessing the health status of populations. Identifying determinants of health, illness, and the use of health care services, using quantitative analysis to estimate resource requirements for service contracting, and managing clinical quality and outcomes.

MMM Format
The MMM is divided into two sections -ACPE requires Section I as a pre-requisite for Section II. Section I courses are available through ACPE. Section II is completed through the university.
Section II
MMM Degree Sessions
The MMM degree requires completion of four on-campus sessions. These sessions are augmented by off-campus studies completed by distance learning. Off-campus studies focus on independent study, team projects, and cohort communications to extend and enrich learning from the on-campus sessions.
