Go beyond the fundamentals of quality and investigate advanced applications of the best quality systems and practices. This unique course requires previous education and experience in quality so that the group discussions and assignments are dynamic and focused on moving beyond theory into real world applications that work. Nine (9) credits of the course are completed online prior to the live meeting through audio web lectures, reading materials and application based assignments. This pre-work becomes a springboard to dive right into the content at the course in Amelia Island and make maximum use of the face to face time with the instructors. Topics include:

  • How to build organization-wide commitment to quality management.
  • High-tech measures of quality outcomes.
  • Identifying and eliminating sources of medical errors.
  • Using evidence-based medicine to maximize outcomes.
  • Develop a roadmap to implement your organization's quality project.

Objectives

  • To outline methods to obtain organizational commitment to quality management at the clinical, administrative and Board levels.
  • To identify methods used to implement technology in the measurement of quality outcomes.
  • To learn procedures to identify and eliminate sources of medical error.
  • To acquire tools to identify and assure patient safety in health care organizations.
