2009 Compensation Survey

Outlook is Bright for Physician Executive Leadership Compensation

Physician executive median compensation marks a two-year increase of 11.6 percent, rising to $288,000 according to the 2009 Physician Executive Compensation Survey published by Cejka Search and the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE). This is a significant increase from the 2007 survey where the two-year rate of increase was reported as 7.5 percent.

Physician Executive Compensation Continues Climb

Overall physician executive compensation increased 7.5 percent to $258,000 from $240,000 between 2005 and 2007. Physician executive compensation has grown 36.6 percent overall since the first survey was published in 1997.

Physician executive pay increase holds steady near 7 percent

And the survey says! Most physician executives are continuing to see growth in
their overall pay, according to the 2005 ACPE/Cejka Search Physician Executive

Results of the 2001 Physician Executive Compensation Survey show that physician executives working in practice/hospital management companies or single specialty groups earn the highest pay. Physician executives with advanced degrees appear to earn more, as well.
